Aesthetic Books to read: Mystery
1. Truly Devious Trilogy: ☠️🔪A dark academia murder mystery in a Transylvania-style high school with a cozy yet chilling atmosphere. This three-book-long mystery kept the clogs of my brain turning all along. The plot is too complicated to explain (ugh!) using my tiny brain, soooo, I guess you’ll have to read to find out!
I never knew a murder mystery could be this AESTHETIC until I read this book. Now, all I want is to go to Ellingham High School.
2. The Inheritance Games:👑✨❤️🔥 A fast-paced puzzling mystery with perfectly imperfect characters and a bit of drama in a family where you can trust nobody. (Like Knives Out) (You’ll especially love this if you’re a kdrama lover)
What happens when you have too much money? Well, you end up leaving all your property to a complete stranger without any explanation and make your 4 good-looking grandsons and said stranger play your “game”.
The said stranger is Averie Kylie Grambs. The Inheritance Games follows her as she unfolds the mysteries of the way-too-rich Hawthorne family. And, also, she gets stuck in a love triangle between two totally opposite guys.
The Inheritance Games is no doubt, an💅👑 aesthetic book to read. In fact, the extravagant aesthetic of the Inheritance Games trilogy is what made me pick it up. I mean just look at its cover!
A hopeless romantic all my life, surrounded my couples all the time. I guess I should take it as a sign..
3. The Do-Over:💓🤗 The Do-over by Lynn Painter is one of THE BEST romance books to exist. Our main girl, Emilie is stuck in a valentine’s day time loop nightmare that she can’t wake up from as she re-watches her boyfriend, Josh, cheating on her day after day. In addition to Josh’s recurring infidelity, Emilie can’t get away from the enigmatic Nick, who she keeps running into—sometimes literally—in unfortunate ways.
I don’t normally enjoy romantic books. They are either too cringy or too smutty. But THIS ONE just did it for me. All the subtle moments, the character development, the banter, the PURE chemistry, I AM HERE FOR THIS!!!!!
And the ending, OMG… This book is AdOrABLE.
(Note: This has no smut but has a LOT of swoonworthy moments)
4. Better Than The Movies:🥰💖🎶 Non-spicy, Non-toxic swoon-worthy, teenage romance. Probably the cutest YA rom-com to ever exist. The literal definition of aesthetic romance.
Another one by the queen of YA Romance: Lynn Painter. This one had me smiling like an idiot the ENTIRE time I read it!
If you like Taylor Swift, read this book. Periodt.
Aesthetic Books To Read For Anime Lovers
5. The Daughter Of The Moon Goddess:🌙🏯💘🏹 Inspired by the beloved legend of Chang’e, the Chinese moon goddess, in which a young girl’s quest to free her mother pits her against the most powerful immortal in the realm. It is an enchanting and romantic fantasy of immortals and magic, of loss and love.
A few things you will find in the story:

🏹 Fierce female warrior fighting for her family
⚔️ A gentle prince & a ruthless soldier
💔 Friends—Lovers—Enemies…
Although I was a bit bored in the starting, I quickly got attached to the character and the atmosphere of the story. A cozy romantic fantasy, for young YA readers (The author says it is for adults and older YA but I disagree, while older people might enjoy it, this one is definitely more fit for a younger audience.)
Warning: The pretentious writing style and unnatural dialogues take some time to get used to.

9. Six Crimson Cranes: 🦢🐍✨Shiori, the only princess of Kiata, has a secret. Forbidden magic runs through her veins. To be honest, it’s worth buying this one JUST FOR THE GORGEOUS COVER. Loved everything about it! The fairytale vibes, the plot, the bond between all the charecters, the cranes, the dragon, the snakes, every part of this book was beautiful.

10. Heartstopper:💞🎒 Inspiration behind the popular Netflix series, this graphic novel is a coming-of-age romantic (gay) comedy-drama. You’ve probably heard enough about it on the internet so, this is your sign to finally, READ IT.
9. Aristotle and Dante Discover The Secrets Of The Universe:🚗🥺 Mesmerizing story of two teenage boys falling in love and discovering themselves. Just Adorable.

11. All Systems Red:🤖😂 Humorous, cynical, and heartwarming sci-fi from the perspective of a hilarious robot.
12. Dial A For Aunties:👰🔪💀 What happens when you mix 1 (accidental) murder with 2 thousand wedding guests and then toss in a possible curse on 3 generations of an immigrant Chinese-Indonesian family? You get 4 meddling Asian aunties coming to the rescue!
This is such a K-Dramaish story and I am here for it! The hilarious moments between Meddy, and her aunts, the wedding, everything was purely entertaining!
Sometimes, you just wanna cry
13. As Long As The Lemon Trees Grow: 🧕🖤😭This is one of my all-time favorite books, so, of course, I am gonna rant about it. But if you don’t want to spend your time reading my rant, then scroll down to the trigger warnings, and if you are fine with them, then, read it. I guarantee you will NOT regret reading this. You will cry several times while reading this but it is all worth it.
Trigger warnings: war and violence, sexual assault (on page), parental deaths (on page), murder, gore, child abuse, torture, starvation, PTSD, grief, and hallucinations.
Now, prepare yourself! Rant incoming in 3..2…1 :
If it is possible to feel EVERY emotion all at once, then this book did exactly that to my heart. It shred the pieces of my heart and sewed it back together.
It tells the tale of Salama and Kenan, two young people forced to grow up by circumstances trying to survive the revolution in Syria. It had me sobbing at several parts of the story. And to think this is a reality in many parts of the world breaks my heart to pieces. This is a story everyone should read and remember.
I will forever cherish my memories of Selama, Kenan, Yusuf, Lama, Layla, Dr.Ziad, and all the other characters in this book and the lessons they taught me.
Although fear is the overarching theme of the book, the hope it has restored and embedded in me will last forever. I don’t think it is possible for me to ever forget any detail about this book!
The writing style, the plot, the emotions, the characters, the portrayal of trauma, the love story, the depiction of Syrian and Muslim culture, everything about this book screams perfection .
I have been looking everywhere for a halal love story like this. And the hijabi representation! I wish I could SCREAM into the ears of every book lover in this world “YOU NEED TO READ THIS!”. If I had to read only one book in my entire life, I would undoubtedly wish it was this one.
14. The Midnight Library: After deciding to end her life, Nora Seeds wakes up in a library where each book tells the story of different versions of her life. Ths one didn’t make me cry, but it has an amazing concept and a good lesson.

Six Of Crows: ☠️🗡️💸🖤A gang of six traumatized teenagers, including a cruel mob boss (Kaz), his badass knife-throwing gymnast Wraith (Inej), a hilarious sharpshooter (Jesper), a cinnamon roll who likes to blow things up (Wylan), a disciplined Grisha-hunter (Matthias), and his Grisha girlfriend (Nina) conduct a heist.
That’s all you need to know. Now, go ahead and read this. I am sure you will be OBSESSED with this book and its characters.

17. Sorcery Of Thornes:🗡️📖🌹🏰 Elegant, dark fantasy world with books that turn into monsters and sorcerers who summon demons.
The dark, mystical, elegant, ✨aesthetic✨ of this book kept me reading the whole time. I mean how could I NOT include this in the most aesthetic books to read! And of course, I LOVE Elizabeth, Nathaniel, and Silas. I hope you do too!
18. Night Circus: 🎪💍🧥 A Whimsical, mysterious book with writing that plays the scenes in your head like a movie.
This one is all vibes no plot yet, I enjoyed it. And let’s all take a moment, to appreciate, the ✨magnificent writing style.
This is an automatic winner if you are looking for aesthetic books to read.
19. To Kill A Kingdom: 🧜
🌊🐚A Badass siren princess and a pirate prince fall in love as they secretly plot to kill each other’s kingdoms. The BEST enemies-to-lovers book I have read!
If you like badass female leads, enemies-to-lovers, and mystical creatures, this is a must-read.
